Boardroom Beauty: Rosy glow

Following on from the theme of yesterday, today's selection is again influenced by the scorching sun we're currently receiving on old Blighty. When temperatures are soaring and the air is humid, often the last thing that you want to do is apply makeup but for most of us, leaving the house without at least something on our face is nigh on impossible. It can be tempting to try and cover up our glowing features with layers of powder, but when things start to get sticky, serious clogging and clumping can become an issue.

Take your cues from Milan's Spring/Summer catwalks then, and channel your natural rosiness through the likes of Bottega Veneta or Dolce & Gabbana's catwalk creations. Glowing, naturally beautiful skin, clean eyes and pillow soft lips acted as the canvass at the former, where soft flourishes of pink on the apples of the cheek tied the look together as one of girlishness and youth. Emulate this radiance by using a light coverage base to even out your skin tone without covering your natural glow and grooming brows upwards to frame the face before applying a cream blusher to the fleshiest part of your cheek and blending softly outwards. If a more 'done' approach is your thing, then look towards D&G, who opted for slightly heavier coverage punctuated by feline flicks around the eyes and warm, pinkish hues travelling across the cheekbones. Recreate this look by using a medium coverage foundation and a steady hand when applying liquid liner and finish up by sweeping your chosen hue up along the hollows of your cheeks until you reach your temples. Whatever approach you deem to be appropriate for your own tastes, both will give a beautiful flush that matches the sun's current glow.
